Description

"Cruising down the Malecon in style -Havana, Cuba"

Cruising the Malecón esplanade with your buddies in a 1957 Chevy convertible and wearing a Canotier Cuban Hat is a lifestyle and way of life for the rich car culture many Cubans have for antique automobiles.

The Malecón (officially called the Avenida de Maceo), which is a broad roadway and seawall that stretches for approximately 5 miles (8 km) along the coast in famous Havana, Cuba. This esplanade by the sea is one of the oldest sea wall and highways in Cuba. Construction of the Malecón began in 1901 with steel-reinforced concrete, whose main purpose was to protect Havana from the sea.
