This a 47,000-acre Atlantic coast national park and recreational area features forests, woodland paths, rocky beaches and glacier-scoured granite peaks. It's elevation is 1,530 feet (466 meters). From this vantage point you can catch the sunrise off the Atlantic Ocean and a beautiful sunset over Champlain Mountain. Among the wildlife are moose, bear, seals, otters, whales and seabirds. The bayside town of Bar Harbor, with restaurants and shops, is a popular tourist stop.
