"Australia Sunrise"

This is a view of two of the original twelve apostles at sunrise in Australia. The twelve apostles were created due to a constant erosion of mainland limestone cliffs by the water and wind of the Southern Ocean. These beautiful rock formations that are like towers standing in the ocean are located at Port Campbell National Park, by the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia.

The Twelve Apostles were formed by wind and water erosion. The extreme and harsh weather conditions from the Southern Ocean gradually erode the soft limestone to form caves in the cliffs, which then become arches that eventually collapse, leaving rock stacks rising out of the ocean 160 feet (50 m) high! The stacks are susceptible to further erosion from waves. In July 2005, a severe storm cause one of the largest rock formations to collapsed, leaving seven standing at the Twelve Apostles viewpoint.
