"Aztec Sun Calendar"

The Aztec calendar is Mesoamerican calendar system that shares it's basic structure with calendars throughout ancient Mesoamerica. It is a combination of numbers and symbols. These calendars can consist of a 365 day, year cycle and a 260 day, ritual cycle. Combined, they make a 52 year "century" or a "calendar round". The Aztecs believed that every 52 years was a life cycle, and at the end of any life cycle, the gods could take away everything and destroy the world.
