Description
"Beacon of Hope"
Location: Holland
Eierland Lighthouse is located at the northernmost tip of the Dutch island of Texel. It is named for the former island Eierland. The lighthouse was designed by Quirinus Harder and construction started on July 25, 1863. The lighthouse was built on top of a 65 foot (20 meters) high sand dune and was first lit on November 1, 1864. This lighthouse is open to the public. After climbing 153 steps, a magnificent view of the North Sea, Wadden Sea, and the nearby island of Flieland awaits you.
