The realist paintings of Bergen County artist Mark Oberndorf have been included in multiple group and one-person exhibitions and has been purchased by many private collectors. Oberndorf's paintings of local landmarks, both current and nostalgic, have also been featured by numerous media outlets including The New York Times, The Record, The Ridgewood News, Provincetown Arts magazine, (201) Magazine, Art in America magazine, The E Jean Carrroll television show and on News 12 NJ television.

The Bendix Diner opened a couples years after World War II (1947). This diner was named after the large local company called "Bendix" a few blocks away by Teterboro Aiport that made avaition parts during and after the war.  The Bendix Diner has many of the classic Jersey diner featiures that include a prominent neon sign that you can't miss, an aluminum-clad exterior, and a long counter with stools bolted to the floor. This diner is Bergen County landmark. bounded by Route 17 North, the Route 46 East turn off, and Williams Avenue in Hasbrouck Heights. Its large pizza shaped parking lot can accommodates a few tractor trailer trucks.

IMBd, the online database of movies and television, list three full-length feature films that contained scenes shot at the Bendix Diner in Hasbrouck Heights. Barry Levinson’s “Diner” in 1982 included interior scenes shot at the diner. Actress Whoopi Goldberg also made an appearance at the Bendix in the 1995 film “Boys on the Side.” And the 1992 film “Jersey Girl” with Jamie Girtz and Dylan McDermott, also featured the Bendix.

Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd shot a “Back to the Future” Toyota commercial at the Bendix in 2015. And more recently, Jerry Seinfeld drove to the Bendix for an online episode of “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” series.
