Description
"Madame Roulin and Her Baby" by Vincent van Gogh
Six months after Vincent relocates from Paris to the city of Arles, once a provincial capital of ancient Rome, he paints the entire family of a local postman named Joseph Roulin. This painting portrays Augustine Roulin's infant daughter Marcelle. Her cute chubby cheeks and her mother's embrace is accentuated with Van Gogh's warm color palette selection. Painted in 1888.
