Description

"Vase with Chinese Asters and Gladioli" by Vincent van Gogh

While in Paris and during the summer of 1886, van Gogh was prolific in painting still life flowers. Vincent painted at least 35 flower still lifes. This original oil on canvas is currently located at the Van Gogh Museum in Europe. Here we see that the artist exercises his use of color and a loose and fluid style of painting. Particularly with his still life paintings, he used strong contrasting colors, placing green and red side by side, or blue and orange. Pairs like these were commonly used by Eugène Delacroix (1798-1863), an artist Van Gogh greatly admired.

All our prints are shipped in high quality aluminum frames. Our EFX watermark will not be printed on the final artwork. All of our products are printed on archival quality UV light resistant polyester.
