"Arch of Constantine in Rome Italy"

The Arch of Constantine was commissioned by the Roman Senate to honor emperor Constantine the Great's victory over Maxentius at the Battle of Milvian Bridge in AD 312. The arch spans the Via Triumphalis, the route taken by military leaders when they entered the city in their triumphal procession. The structure of the arch consists of brick-faced concrete covered in marble and three bays with detached columns.
