The Colosseum is an oval amphitheatre in Rome, Italy, located east of the Roman Forum. It is the largest ancient amphitheatre ever built and is one of Rome's most popular tourist attractions. The Colosseum's construction is made up of limestone, volcanic rock and brick-faced concrete. Throughout it's history, it could hold about 50,000 to 80,000 spectators and had an average audience of 65,000 people.
