"Boat on a Barca Beach"   

Location: Barca, Libya

Barca appears to have been originally a settlement of the Libyan tribe Barraci. Later, around 560 BC Greek settlers from Cyrene colonized it and it became very powerful port city and was named Barce (Βάρκη). This city was later captured by the Persians. Then eventually it became a city in the Roman/Byzantine empire.
