Eagle Nebula

"Eagle Nebula" 

The Eagle Nebula is considered to be a young open cluster of stars. This cluster of stars is in the constellation serpens and is 5.504 million years old. It is a part of a diffuse emission nebula or H II region that is cataloged as IC 403. The region of the active star formation is around 5700 light-years distant. The gas can be seen coming off the nebula in the northeastern part. The Eagle Nebula is 9.5 light-years or about 90 trillion kilometers long.
