Description

"Hot Air Balloons at Sunrise"

Hot air balloons were invented by Ed Yost on September 19, 1783. Hot air balloons are lighter than air gas as it contains a bag, which is called an envelope, that contains heated air. Under the balloon, there is a gondola or wicker basket, which carries the passengers and a source of heat. Most of the time, there is an open flame caused by burning liquid propane. The heated air inside the envelope makes it buoyant, as there is a lower density than the air outside the envelope. All aircraft cannot fly beyond the atmosphere. Some of the modern balloons have been created in different shapes, like rocket ships or various commercial products. This invention is the first successful human-carrying technology.
