Colorful sunset sky over Mount Kirkjufell with a view of the beautiful grass landscape. An interesting fact is that Mount Kirkjufell contains volcanic rock but is not actually a volcano. It is a former nunatak, a mountain that protruded above the glaciers surrounding it during the Ice Age. However, the stratum, or layer of rock this Icelandic mountain is composed of, contains alternating layers of lava and sandstone with rock made of volcanic ash at its summit.

This arrowhead-shaped mountain is located on the Snæfellsnes peninsula in West Iceland. In HBO's Game of Thrones, it's knowns as Arrowhead Mountain and is one of the landmarks beyond "The Wall". In this fictional story, this mountain is the birthplace of the Night King, and you can spot Kirkjufell in Season 6 when Bran meets the Night King and his army.
