Nieuwe Sluis is a Dutch lighthouse is the southernmost lighthouse in the country and on the North Sea. It's located a few miles west of Breskens, Zeeland. Nieuwe Sluis is also the oldest cast iron lighthouse in the Netherlands. The lighthouse was designed by Quirinus Harder and it was built between 1866 and 1867. The octagonal, black and white tower marks the entrance to the Westerschelde. The tower is 93 feet (28.4 meters) in height.
