"Potala Palace Fountain"
The Potala Palace was first constructed in 1645 by the fifth Dalai Lama to serve as an ideal seat of government. Today, the palace serves as a museum. The Potala Palace was considered a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization since 1994. The Potala Palace hosts daily fountain light shows for visitors to partake in at night. The palace contains over 1,000 rooms, 10,000 shrines, and 200,000 statues and is Tibet’s architectural gem.
