Description
"Southern Ring Nebula"
NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope image reveals how this Southern Ring planetary nebula is cloaked in gas and dust from dying stars. Also many of the multi-colored points of light seen in the background of this cosmic image are actually galaxies, not just stars. Webb’s powerful infrared images brings this nebula into full view, along with exceptional structures created as the stars shape the gas and dust around them. New details like these, from what we believe is the late stages of a star’s life, will help us better understand how stars evolve and transform their environments.
Two on board cameras on the Webb space telescope captured the latest image of this planetary nebula, cataloged as NGC 3132, and known informally as the Southern Ring Nebula. It is approximately 2,500 light-years away from Earth.
All our prints are shipped in high-quality aluminum frames. Our EFX watermark will not be printed on the final artwork. All of our products are printed on archival quality UV light resistant polyester.
