The Colosseum is an oval amphitheater in Rome, Italy. It is the largest ancient amphitheater built. It is also one of Rome's most popular tourist attractions. The Colosseum's construction is made up of limestone, volcanic rock, and brick-faced concrete. It once held about 50,000 to 80,000 spectators and had an average audience of 65,000 people.
