Description
"Woman with a Parasol- Madame Monet and Her Son," by Claude Monet
Woman with a Parasol- Madame Monet and Her Son, also known as The Stroll, is an canvas oil painting from Claude Monet in 1875. This impressionist painting shows his wife, Camille Monet, and their son Jean Monet, capturing a moment on a stroll during a windy summer's day in Argenteuil, France. Monet's light, spontaneous brushwork creates splashes of color as Mrs. Monet's veil is shown wind blown along with her billowing white dress. It is a depiction of everyday life as the waving grass of the meadow is echoed by the green interior of Madame Monet's parasol.
