Description
"San Galgano Abbey Ruins"
Location: Tuscany, Italy
A dark sky over the San Galgano Abbey ruins with a view of the long tall nave and rose window still in tact. The Abbey, formed for Saint Galgano, was a Cistercian Monastery founded in the valley of the river Merse between the towns of Chiusdino and Monticiano, in the province of Siena. This abbey, now turned to ruins, is known for its gothic architecture and the roofless walls of this 13th century Italian church still stand today.
